Tatiana Kourochkina Art Gallery presents Des·ubicados (Out of place) , show of photography, drawing, sculpture and video. In this selection of works real images lose their natural location to make way for an unreal atmosphere, both in its context of creation, the UAE, and for the Western imagination from which we observe them.
Miguel Trillo (Jimena de la Frontera, Cadiz, l953) has exploring with his camera urban tribes: their clothes that distinguish individuals and unite them. He discovers that there are young people dressed in the UAE as in any Western country, belonging to 85% of the foreign population. They are misplaced with respect to the Islamic dress, they are a continent within a continent.
Maider López (San Sebastian, 1975) her work in photography and video is a surrealist “dislocation” in itself. She works with the space and remodeled tread to consciously perceive it as an entity with its features or characteristics “of others.” In this case uses a square, typically Arab and converted into a soccer field work by simple red lines.
The “dislocation” as photographed by Miguel Oriola (Alcoy, l943) is reflected in the images of skyscrapers that seem to appear from nowhere and often seems to be empty or abandoned, citing the economic crisis that also affects the Emirates.
Evru (Alberto Porta, l946) presents characters surprised and disoriented by their location in parallel universes, mental or dream, people of his own creation Mental Evrugo Estate.
